KILLING SOCKUMS

 today is the day we kill sockums !!! and what i mean by that is that the health system and damage is being worked on swimmingly!

all the money is currently placeholder only, but say hi to them!

the money UI guy is named "jeeves" and hes also being worked on and he's going well, he has no placeholders, and here are his sprites so far!


heres some more placeholder sprites for sockums! the hurting sprite and the dying sprite! these will need a lot of touching up as far as i can tell...
placeholder enemy sprite! theyre pretty crude, but i think you can get a pretty good idea of what he'll look like when finished

DEVBLOG EPISODE III:

Hey guys welcome to another Devblog !!!! so in terms of progress, there is some. i have added a ground pound, which can be cancelled out of with a dive, and a wall bonk that stuns you if you hit a wall while diving. and the flutter jump also is here i should have brought that up lol. ladders and semisolids are also functioning perfectly (kinda). i also started on the UI, which at the moment is just sockums and the outline for the health, but the next thing I'm doing is adding the health system!

and since I'm feeling really generous, have some of the placeholder sprites for the animations i haven't started

the tutorial level has a new town background, with the rest of it still needing to be remade. 

next episode: I'm gonna code the first enemy probably, which includes adding in the health system, the attack system, and the hitbox system, so that will be a whole bunch of fun. I'm sure.

DEVBLOG #2 IDK IM NOT KEEPING COUNT

THE DEMO

so about this demo, its going to be called "sockums' late night fright" and is going to be 3 levels long with a little boss encounter. i dont know when it will release, but all i do know is that it'll be some spooky fun!

BIG progress post

so coding is hard, and I'm a moron, however I'm making some strives on getting the tutorial level done! wowie look at all of this stuff I've made

Behind the Scenes Junk!

wowza wowza wowza, I have changed some plans, I realize I cannot make this project an RPG like I had planned mainly because the characters, story, animation style, just everything feels way more platformer than anything. simple momentum platformer stuff, with a bunch of Mario/Yoshi's island influence, but I'm still going to put a bunch of dialogue and story inside of the platformer levels and such.

but hey, I think to 'celebrate the change in path' I'll put almost all of the concept stuff I've generated so far!

this was the first ever art i made for the party, even colon was going to be a party member! and mleem was named mleemy and or mleemly?

first of the HD drawing renders or whatever i made of them together, MLEEM ALMOST HAD A MOUTH.

I also was going to have it originally be made in RPG maker, and that required spritework, which i suck at, and this is as far as i got. 


and since its no longer an RPG, have the battle poses i had planned for them

ref sheets i made of the main cast, and i think they all still hold up pretty well

and lastly, have some misc BTS drawings i had made LOL
